ProPASS Early Career Award
Deadline: 30/04/2019
The Prospective Physical Activity, Sitting and Sleep Consortium (ProPASS) is a developing international research collaboration platform of cohorts using thigh-worn accelerometry to explore physical activity, posture, and sleep patterns in relation to a wide range of health outcomes (https://www.propassconsortium.org/). The consortium was established in 2017 and represents a long-term project that will shape the future of physical activity, sedentary behaviour, and sleep epidemiology. We aim to engage high quality early career researchers that have a strong vision for the future and can contribute to taking ProPASS forward. Our annual 2-day symposium (https://www.propassconsortium.org/propass-collaborators-meeting) will be held in Maastricht, 28 & 29th June 2019 right after ICAMPAM (https://ismpb.org/icampam/). We invite early career researchers (max 5 years since PhD Award) to apply for an award to attend the meeting in Maastricht.
Two successful applicants will:
-
be invited to the ProPASS 2-day collaborators symposium and have the opportunity to present their vision.
-
receive €600 towards travel costs to attend.
-
be invited to join ProPASS as collaborators
Application Process
Please send a one page outline of your vision about an accelerometry consortium like ProPASS, and 4-5 page CV. Please use the information provided on the ProPASS website to develop the vision. You may find our October 2018 Copenhagen workshops pack helpful. Criteria for selection will be creativity, scientific potential, and feasibility of the vision outline. We encourage applicants to include ideas for data sharing, thigh worn accelerometry data processing, and strategies for consortium expansion.
Please send the applications (CV and vision document as a zipped file) to Barbaros Eroglu barbaros.eroglu@sydney.edu.au , closing date April 30th 2019 GMT midnight.
